Of course the site you're currently viewing, Nashville Computer Group, was done by hiker. The Nashville Computer Group site includes integration into the PayPal payment system-- written in PHP using templates to display the various pages.
Wal-Mart Litigation (WIP)This work-in-progress site is completely written in CSS/PHP. All pages are data-driven templates, with content stored in a MySQL database. It includes extensive back-end use of MySQL databases, a membership area with file upload and extensive data submission forms. "Captcha" verification is used for all forms on the site. The site integrates with PayPal for shopping cart purchases as well as membership purchase.
Lawsuitstoday incorporates extensive "back-end" programming. The site contains a MySQL database of over 18,000 cases. From these cases a daily selection is made of featured cases, and the front page rewritten with these features. At the same time, a daily RSS feed is generated of these features in the form of an XML file. These cases are also archived daily with a new web page generated and added to the archive menu by rewriting that page. All of this is initiated automatically by a "cron job" running on the server.
With a single click, users can subscribe to the RSS feed, automatically adding it to their AOL, MSN, Yahoo or Google accounts. The site also features a case search utility using a "full text" search algorythm which searches on each word of the case synopsis, not just selected keywords.
For updating, the site has an "upload" utility which will copy a text file from the user's local disk, convert it into MySQL data fields and append it to the database. During the process, certain characters that are unprintable on an HTML page are converted to printable characters.
For user purchases, the site intefaces with the PayPal shopping cart system. When purchases are made, the sales data is inserted into a database, the webmaster is notified of the sale, and another "cron job" notifies the webmaster if the product is not downloaded within four hours, guarding against non-delivery due to malfunctions.
The Village Host includes integration with a custom shopping cart and Enom domain registration as well as the PayPal payment system.
"The Green Company" is a site produced for a customer that features a flash header, menu bar and a flash presentation including imported video.
American Bonding was created for a local client and features a 3D graphical header.

This is a tour presentation for a freelancer's website.
This is a "piece" of a website allowing selection of options on a standard house plan.
Here is a demonstration of illustration only in Flash.
An animated logo.
This is an invitation to a golf tournament. This one is sorta fun and includes embedded movies in the Flash.
I did not design this Flash website, and in fact, it's not even a finished site. What I did do was the action scripting that loads the "Company News" and "Recent Articles" from text files, and formats them for the screen, adding scroll bars as needed, etc.
I did design this site although I don't consider it one of my best, even if it is an old site of my own. (think of the old story about the cobbler's children going barefoot). Just don't select the "ecards" option! Although you may wish to check out "What Clients Say."
Here is an ecard for July 4. The fireworks are action scripted.
Another ecard, this one for Thanksgiving. All the artwork and animation are by "hiker" including the "spam."
This is a promotional presentation used on a client's website. The quality of the embedded movie is not the greatest, but it's what the client furnished!
Here is an animated intro for a game fansite.
